Dictatorships both
of internal and external origin have proved that they cannot
withstand the concerted defiance of the people. The problems in
Eritrea are today deep. The dictator in Eritrea deliberately
destroying the social, political, economic and even religious
institutions of the society, as a result the people are weak and
lacks self-confidence and are incapable to resist inside Eritrea.
The Eritrean people at home are often frightened to share their
hatred of the dictatorship and explain their hunger for freedom even
with their families. Our people at home are terrified and cannot
express their opinion on their lives under oppression. Thanks to the
protests and demonstrations conducted by the Eritrean civic and
political organizations in the countries of their residences that
the Eritrean dictator was exposed all over the world, however the
past acts of resistance were not sufficient to overcome the people’s
fears and involve many to civil disobedience which is the
prerequisite to destroy the dictatorship.
The Brussels Rally
is the best method facing the Eritrean dictator exposing the
brutality nature of the Eritrean dictator to the European Community.
The European Union supports the regime in Eritrea who continues
oppressing its people by using brutal methods of killing, torture
and disappearance. The Brussel Rally will remind the leaders of the
union that negligence will be responsible for the elongation of the
Eritrean people’s suffering under the brutal regime.
We know that the
power of dictatorships exist primarily because of internal power.
The dictator in Eritrea owns all the national wealth and the
military is in its hand while the population is kept weak that it
couldn’t resist.
Although
dictatorships may benefit from or be somewhat weakened by
International actions, for example the support of the European
Union with the Eritrean dictator helps the dictator to continue its
oppression. The goal of the Brussel Rally is to urge the leaders of
the union to stop this support and instead support the Eritrean
people. The Rally will demand that EU should put economic boycotts,
embargoes, break of diplomatic relations and ban entry visas to the
envoys of the Eritrean dictator.
The Eritrean
–European Network for democratic change in cooperation with the
Eritrean Democratic Alliance is the hope and inspiration of the
Eritrean people at home and the rally that will be conducted on 18
September 2008 is a symbol of unity, defending the fundamental
rights of the Eritrean people.
The Rally reminds
us that it is time to rely upon our own determination, help
ourselves by standing together and defeat the tyranny in Eritrea. I
welcome and wish success to the Brussels Rally. |
